My name is Lion Kimbro, and this is my wiki: A place where I keep rough notes online.
Historically, I have written on CommunityWiki. As of late (end of 2007, early 2008,) what I think about has shifted from CommunityWiki venue (observations on online community, communications software developments, online organizing,) and have shifted into other spaces, that don’t quite fit into CommunityWiki.
In particular:
- EvolutionarySpirituality – “How do we understand spirituality, wisdom, adventure, life, and love, in the modern scientific world?” There’s a type of person that calls themselves “integral,” and I have a hard time relating with them. But we are clearly related.
- SpiritualCommunity – My search for a better society began in my early 20’s, after the WTO in Seattle. I started with Anarchism, which I take to mean “Thinking about social orders with an open heart, and zero assumptions.” I originally looked at egalitarian communities where everything was up for discussion, debate, and refinement, such as TwinOaks. When I saw that debate and argument were then reflected in the society as central substance, I realized the mistake I had made: Whatever state of mind you go in with and take as foundation, makes your society. Choose an argumentative and divided state of mind, and you get an argumentative and divided society. Now, I study communities rooted in spirituality, such as the FederationOfDamanhur.
- GenderAndSexuality – I’m a sexual being in a sexual world. That fact alone inspires thought (perhaps all thought: SexIsFoundationalToMe.) But I have some particular concerns as well – Like most married people with kids, I’m trapped in a SexlessMarriage. That I’m not really married (no ceremony has taken place, no legal vows have been made,) it doesn’t seem to matter: The situation is the same. Further, the facts of masculinity are fearsome, oppressive, and dangerous. How to make sense of my life, my nature, and also species?
- MovieInterpretation – I am gifted with the ability to see messages in movies, video games, comics, and other forms of story telling. In fact, I find them raining down on me; It’s hard for me to not see significance. Strangely, most people I know have a very hard time seeing these things, something that I find hard to understand. Regardless: I write about what I see.
- Programming – I have programmed all my life, and don’t know that I could stop, even if I wanted to. Attractive programming ideas always beacon to me. Hence, PythonCode.
