WhatIsSpiritual

I roughly define “Spiritual” as, …

The spiritual is the unity behind humanities, arts, creativity, imagination, joy, health, freshness, life.

Not only these things, but: “You get the idea.”

"So let's go!"

A lot of people take the word “spiritual” for a stopper.

Like, they say--

“You promised NaturalisticCommitment. But now you’re talking spirituality. You have to explain yourself, because I don’t see any etheric entities floating around.”

I find that my answer (“The spiritual is the unity behind…”) tends to surprise people. I think to myself, “Ha ha! You thought you PostModern deconstruction techniques were going to tear this down and break it apart!”

"According to Who?"

Oops, the post-modernists aren’t quite done yet.

“Unity according to who?”, they demand.

Well, according to your heart.

None of us can really get away with stepping outside our own heart.

It’s time for us to speak about what’s in our hearts.
